A little bit of filter work changes this
photo of sunbeams falling on trees
as the fog is disappears.

Using the Topaz Simplify filter with
a bit of tweaking creates a bit of a
painterly look.

More trees and Fog

More fog and more flowers. Very hard to not take a ton of exposures to get both the  fog and the trees to look natural.

Fitbit told buzzed and congratulated me for climbing 50 sets of stairs this particular morning.

Sunset and Waves

A quick drive to the coast for a last few
photos.

Walking across the sand and watching
the waves roll in was fun.

The sunset was lovely and the
afterglow was exciting.

God Beams

Another God Beams image taken in the Redwood Forest.

Very  bright light shining through the clouds.

We were almost blinded by the intensity of the light.

It is difficult to get both the light and the dark so that the viewer can see the differences between the lights and darks.

The normal morning fog that hangs in the Redwoods near the ocean is wonderful.

Clouds float in and out and move freely about!

Soft light makes things right!

Forest Pathway

Morning walk in the Redwoods. A bit of fog lingers as the sun starts to break through to show us the path toward the ocean.

Very uncrowded, but then, the pathway becomes descends very quickly to a more narrow long downhill trek.

Redwoods and Sunbeams

We stared out at 5:00am last Monday morning to look for Redwood trees in the fog.

About 10:00am the sunbeams started coming through the thinning clouds.

This is one of the many images I took  that day!

We hiked about 12 miles with my camera backpack and a tripod.

Good day, but very tiring!

A week ago we left for a photo workshop in the Northern CA.

Up very early to catch the fog in the trees.

Active hiking, carrying tripod and camera gear.

Still recovering from the very long days, but wanted to post something from the trip.
